How it all began

Picture
Strut, USA was officially opened in 1986 by Lynn C. Barron.  Until that time, Mz Lynn was teaching baton and dance throughout the Birmingham and Gadsden areas at dance studios , schools and recreation centers while furthering her training in the arts.  After opening the doors to 37 students in Alabama City, Strut, USA is now blessed with over 200 students in all areas of the arts.

The curriculum includes not only tap, ballet, jazz and baton twirling, but also voice, musical theatre, "Krunk Kids" (age appropriate Hip Hop),  clogging, lyrical, contemporary, praise/worship dance, and choreography for numerous majorette, dancelines, color guards and theater productions.  In addition, Strut, USA teaches workshops for after school programs, special needs children, girl scouts and more.

As "second in command" to Mz Lynn, we are honored to have Allison Woodward who hails from Phoenix, AZ.  She is known for her outstanding choreography in Tap, Lyrical, Character and Jazz. She holds numerous national titles for her choreography and is looking forward to bringing her expertise to the Strut family. Be sure to look out for her teams winning awards all across the country this season.
